Year-end pause

Between December 31 and January 2, there is a temporary pause in the crediting of Qualifying Points. Don’t worry—your points will be credited correctly after this period.

Why do my Qualifying Points reset each year?

Qualifying Points are accumulated annually, always from January 1 to December 31. When a new year begins, your Qualifying Points balance resets to start a new qualification cycle. But don’t worry—nothing you earned during the previous year is lost.

Your total Qualifying Points from that period remain recorded in your qualification history and will be considered for your Elite Category requalification on March 31 of the following year.

New Feature

Starting January 2026, you’ll be able to view your full Qualifying Points history in the LATAM Pass app, giving you greater clarity and transparency about your progress.

Qualifying Points Surplus

What is the surplus?
It’s the amount of Qualifying Points you earned above what you needed to maintain your Elite Category.

How does it work?
To take advantage of your Qualifying Points surplus, you must have selected this reward within the LATAM Pass Bonus. The total number of Qualifying Points credited corresponds to the percentage defined in your chosen Bonus—50%, 75%, or 100% of the surplus. If you did not select this benefit, the surplus will not be credited for the new qualifying year.

Example: A Platinum member earned 67,500 Qualifying Points. Since 35,000 points are required to maintain Platinum, the surplus is 32,500 points. If the member selected the 50% surplus Bonus, they will receive 16,250 Qualifying Points credited into the new qualifying year.

Can I receive Qualifying Points even after the year has ended?

Yes. You can still receive Qualifying Points for activities completed during the previous period. Some activities may take up to 60 days to process and are sometimes credited only at the start of the new year. These points will be credited to the correct qualifying period, even if they appear after January 1.

LATAM Airlines Credit Cards

Credited up to 15 days after the billing cycle closes.

Example: A member stayed at a hotel booked through Booking.com and completed the checkout on December 20, 2025. The Qualifying Points were credited on February 10, 2026, within the processing period of up to 60 days. Even so, the points are automatically applied to the 2025 qualifying period, since the activity took place during that year, and they count toward your requalification goal, which takes place on March 31, 2026.
